Need to Know

We are on the countdown, (T minus 3 days), to the Chicago Regional Conference.  We don't want you to show up to the conference and be confused....so here is some information to hopefully better address any questions you  might be thinking.

Location of Conference: All conference events, including all examinations and both the ICD-10 and CPPM boot camps, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, East Tower, at 151 East Wacker Drive in Chicago.

Transportation from the Airport: Detailed information on taxis, shuttles, and trains can be found under the Hotel tab on our website.

Conference Check-In: Pick up your conference bag, schedule, and other conference materials at the registration desk (open Thursday from 11am to 7pm) located in the hotel's Grand Foyer.

Breakout Sessions: Printed schedules will be in your packet when you check in. Remember to keep your schedule on your person at all times during the conference because it is your ticket for the sessions you selected.

Session Presentations: Presentation slides are available online. You may print and bring them to conference if you choose but this is not mandatory. The slides will remain online for a month following the last day of conference.

It is going to be chilly...

Weather: The forecast for our conference is temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s with lows in the 40’s. Also, meeting rooms can be chilly, so remember to pack sweater or jacket.  A limited number of jackets will be available at AAPC’s product store.

See you in CHICAGO!

The FUN never stops when Johnny is around....

If you haven't been to a regional or national conference before then you have never seen The Biscuit Reports or met Johnny Biscuit.  He is AAPC's conference comedian.  Every morning at the general session we will start the morning off with The Biscuit Report - a snip bit of hilarious conference footage.  So if you see Johnny roaming the halls of the hotel in his suit asking questions, don't be shy to say hi!

Meet and Greet

National Advisory Board Officers
Don't miss the opportunity to join AAPC's National Advisory Board (NAB) on Thursday, Oct 25 at 5 pm for the NAB Meet and Greet event.  This is your chance to ask questions, network and get to know the National Advisory Board.  The NAB's role is to advise AAPC on coding issues, trends and member needs and promote the mission of AAPC and the coding profession.  The NAB hopes to enteract with the attendees at the conference and give them a TRICK or TREAT for stopping by and visiting.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Chicago River is the only river in the world that flows backwards…

Chicago debuted the ferris wheel, the skyscraper, roller skates, the soap opera and the remote control!

You just might be able to squeeze in a little shopping at the conference…after all, the first four letters of Chicago are C H I C….need we say more?

Little Tidbits on Chicago

Here are some little-known facts to help you realize that Chicago truly is one of America’s best cities.

The 4 stars on the Chicago flag represent Fort Dearborn, the Chicago Fire, the World’s Columbian Exposition, and the Century of Progress Exposition.

The Art Institute of Chicago holds the largest collection of Impressionist paintings outside the Louvre in Paris – who knew?

Among the Field Museum’s most prized jewels is the 5,890-carat Chalmerz topaz, which weighed 10,200 carats in the rough – wow!

Can you feel the HEAT?

G2KYLC 2012 Las Vegas National Conference
Never been to Regional Conference?  No time like the present!  Summer 2012 has been a scorcher all across the nation, and by all appearances it looks like the heat will carry on right into October for AAPC’s Regional Conference!

This conference is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Regional Conferences in AAPC history, and we want YOU to be part of it!  The AAPCCA Board of Directors will feature a Leadership Session for current and prospective chapter officers, in addition to the ever-popular G2KYLC event.  Our industry is big on acronyms, but in case this is a new one for you, we’re talking about Get To Know Your Local Chapter, the showcase where local chapters brag about all the great things they’re doing!  Always a lot of fun, GTKYLC is a great way to end your first day in Chicago.

There’s still plenty of time to register at the discounted early bird price (ends August 24) of just $325 for the conference, or $725 for conference + two nights’ hotel.  What are you waiting for…do we need to light a fire under you?

Date:  Thursday, October 25
Time:  6-6:45 PM
Where:  Hyatt Regency Chicago
